In 1979, a two-way message service called "Videotex" prompted researchers to spend more time and this led to what was then referred to as "Teleshopping". Making Online purchases, chatting on Telephone, Telephone directory search and even watching the share market were launched in 1982 by "Minitel", as a result of the continued attempt by researchers over these years. Many of us were unaware of World Wide Web (WWW) at this point in time. In 1987, the Software Industry (Developers and Authors) began to use an "Online Market" to sell their products.

The first browser to view the Web was launched in 1990 and a book on World Wide Web was also written by the same man who was responsible for commercialising WWW - Tim Berners-Lee.
