What are tablet computers? 

Tablet Computer, sometimes called "Tablet" is one-piece mobile computer and uses a touch-screen and an on-screen keyboard that can be hidden when not in use. The Tablet computer, together with the special operating software, is an example of pen computing technology.

The first commercial portable Electronic Tablets appeared at the end of 20th century. In 2010, Apple Inc. successfully released the first Tablet commercially. Other manufacturers like Samsung, HTC, RIM, Sony, Motorola, Amazon, Microsoft, HP, Toshiba and many more produce Tablets of their own.

The iPad is a line of tablet computers marketed by Apple Inc. It runs on Apple's iOS operating system. The iPad  uses technology similar to that of Apple iPhone. An iPad can shoot video, take photos, , play music, play games and perform similar other functions.

In 2012, the top selling was Apple's iPad, followed by Amazon's Kindle Fire next and Barnes & Noble's Nook in the third place.
